I bought this set for my 78-year-old, chess-loving dad as a Christmas present. My father, who is very picky, loves it. I wanted a set that also included checkers, and most of the ones I was considering did not come with them. The cabinet board is solidly constructed and aesthetically pleasing. The board size is just right--not too big and not too small. The felt-lined storage draw fits securely in place when closed and provides individual compartments for each piece. The chess pieces are of a nice size and weight and are nicely carved in the traditional Staunton style. The set also looks lovely if left out on permanent display. Both Dad and I are very pleased with it. Now, if I can only figure out a way to beat him!!!
