The dark chessmen are made from gorgeous sheesham wood, a tight-grained hardwood with hints of dark and light highlights. Sheesham carves well and is an excellent choice of material for dark chess pieces. The light chessmen are made from boxwood, a fine-grained hardwood with an ivory appearance and a natural luster. The king of this beautiful set of chessmen stands five inches tall with a base diameter of 1.75 inches. Made in India.
