These are nice, weighty chess pieces and very sturdy. They were a gift for our eight-year-old grandson, to go with a checkers/backgammon game rug purchased last year (elsewhere). It was a real treat to see him sprawled in front of the woodstove, playing intense chess with his older brother for hours at a time over the Christmas holiday.

I enjoy this set a lot! The only thing I was thrown off about is the picture of the set on the website is not the same as the product I received. But the set I received is awesome! The size helps visualize strategy for beginners.

Two things I didn't like about the set itself: the weights rattle around in a few of the pieces and the felt wasn't exactly centered on the bottom. But I've played with friends' sets who had weights in them and some of those pieces rattled as well.

Well, they are heavy and they are cheap. I didn't feel like spending $200+ on triple weighted wood pieces. These do the job and I wont feel guilty taking them camping...
