      I use it to carry to the Babershop Chess Club and the fellows like it...It is large enough not to "sleep" moves...we all are learning together...now someone is establishing a game room next door...we just love it.

      [...]there were no veneer bubbles or voids. There were, however, a number of places were you could see clamp impressions and dents in the surface. Initially I thought the piece was without a finish but it did have a thin layer of some sort of finish which did not enhance the maple and walnut veneer. Also the back was veneered with mahogany.

        The color hue in the pictures does not look like the board as much. The board is more of a grey/muted wood color.I like the board very much and it matches the Standard French pieces I bought. It makes a very handsome set for an affordable price.[...] it's a great chessboard.Get felt-bottom pieces (it'll scratch otherwise).
