Description

The 15 Inch Polished Burl Wood Chess board is a beautiful piece for both play and decoration. Its delicately crafted surface features alternating light beige squares, and the playing area is surrounded by a thin inlay border and edges that feature the same burled wood design. This unique surface stands out all the more because of its elevation. Four pedestal feet located at the corners raise the board and give it a stately feel. Squares measure 1.5 inches.

    I was very pleased when I received this chessboard. The construction is appropriate for the price range, the wood veneers used are beautiful, and the finish seems durable enough to withstand regular use. If you're looking for an attractive board with minimal capital investment, you would be hard pressed to beat this deal. The only caveat is that the board itself is a bit lighter colored than one would imagine based on the photograph presented.
